The Role

We are a fast-growing nutraceutical company located in Hauppauge. We focus on the distribution, research development, and manufacturing of diverse natural, organic and niche ingredients. We work with the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and cosmetic industries. We are seeking a full-time Formulation Scientist who can work independently to ensure our customers have the regulatory documents required.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Formulation Scientist include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop the formulations for Dietary Supplements, Nutraceuticals, OTC & Pharmaceutical products.
  • Plan and conduct development activities from the Product initiation stage to commercialization.
  • Provide the requirements for the Development and evaluating the equipment, material and other requirements for the development and CMO evaluation for the safe scale up of the product
  • Support the Procurement, Analytical team, Production, QA, QC and others.
  • To be part of cGMP/cGLP, based on the requirement of the management.
  • Support for process validation, Stability protocols for developing products.
  • Conduct and compile literature and patent searches and document research results.
  • Explore new technology and materials to achieve significant impact and breakthroughs in new product development to meet/improve product properties.
  • Provide technical consultation for product and process control strategies.
  • Prepare and review technical reports/protocols and formulation development reports.
  • Specification preparation for the finished products in development and CMO products.
  • Lead R&D representative for the development and product suggestions based on Market evaluations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The key skills and qualities of a Formulation Scientist are:

  • Knowledge and skills of formulation technology and development.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and techniques
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP / cGLP, lab techniques, etc.
  • Knowledge of preparing technical reports/protocols and formulation development report.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical science, formulation and technology.
  • Knowledge of analytical concepts and technology

The Role

Are you a hands-on technician who has experience working on equipment for solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules in a pharmaceutical/neutraceutical environment?

If so, American Health Formulations, a fast-growing nutraceutical company, are looking for a R&D Technician to set up R&D and pilot/commercial equipment.

The key responsibilities of an R&D Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Assembling, disassembling, cleaning and maintaining of all R& D and pilot/commercial equipment.
  • Operating R&D equipment such as tablet press, capsulation machine, coating machine, blenders etc.
  • Ensuring that R&D laboratory is clean and organized on daily basis.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a R&D Technician:

  • Qualification: High School diploma or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ industrial experience in one or more fields of pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, OTCs and technology transfer.
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP / cGLP, lab techniques, etc.
  • HANDS ON experience with manufacturing equipment and techniques.
  • Knowledge and skills of formulation technology and development.
  • Good documentation practices.
  • Training requirements: General safety, SOP, cGMP, Safety and HACCP, General Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging procedures.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Regulatory Affairs Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Study and search scientific and legal documents
  • Prepare required documents for submissions
  • Formatting and compiling information as per required regulations
  • Ensuring compliance to required regulations for filing
  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulatory guidelines
  • Review labels
  • Work with QA associate to release labels
  • Ensure that quality standards are met with and submissions are completed on time.
  • Follow up with regulatory agencies
  • Help Sales & Marketing in obtaining required certificates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, preferably in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in regulatory documentation, filing etc.
  • Knowledge of labels requirements for Dietary supplements and Pharma products
  • Knowledge of FDA guidelines for Dietary supplements
  • Knowledge of GRAS application process
  • Computer software applications required for FDA submissions

Operators – Tablet, Packaging, and Encapsulation

We have recently purchased several new pieces of equipment in order to expand our ability to meet our clients needs.  We now have the following positions available:

  • Encapsulation Operators
  • Tablet Press Operators
  • Packaging Operators
  • Stick Pack/Sachet Operators
  • Soft Gel Operators
  • Mechanics

Responsibilities include:

  • Work on the lines which include Bottle Packaging Line, Gummy Packaging Line, Encapsulation, Tablet Press, Soft Gel, and Stick Pack /Sachet Packing Line.
  • Work based on schedule and instruction on Batch Record (BR).
  • Clean the equipment following related SOPs.
  • Adjust equipment based on the batch record instructions, and related production operations.
  • Closely monitor the line and stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur.
  • Replenish the supplies necessary to keep the line running in a timely manner to prevent downtime — this includes stocking conveyors or hoppers with products or components.
  • Adjust the equipment before production, keep observing the performance of the equipment, and make adjustment accordingly.
  • Regularly check the quality of the product per BPR instructions.
  • Help Line Lead check the receiving and finished paperwork.
  • Feed the bulk product/tablets/capsules/blend material and packaging material into the equipment in a timely manner.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet company deadlines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve production line problems
  • Setup experience a big plus
  • Bi-lingual – English and Spanish a plus

This is a full time position.  First shift, 8 hours.  Start time can be from 7am to 9am.  Paid time off and paid holidays.  Low-cost medical benefits available if qualified.

The Role

Responsible for developing, managing and overseeing Nutraceutical and Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing. Development of a customer base for the company based on our capabilities.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

· To develop a sound customer base; Manage sales accounts

· Research and evaluate product price structure based on market research and customer input.

· Manage & develop relationships with all accounts to become the “go to” person & develop new business.

· Handle all customer accounts in respect to price quotations and required internal paperwork

· Handle all incoming inquiries regarding functions and capabilities.

· Enter Sales Orders and communicate to the Planning Department all customer requirements and monitor delivery schedules.

· Coordinate information between Planning and Production to customers when requested.

· Verify customer required information and handle required customer files.

· Manage Sales and Marketing Activities and report to COO progress and/or discrepancies.

· Coordinate with heads of other departments to ensure materials/products are proceeding as per company priorities and published schedules

· Ensure all actions in area of responsibility are conducted as per FDA, cGMP’s and regulations from other government agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DEA, etc. (as applicable).

· Support all inspections conducted by government agencies, internal and/or customer audits.

What you need:

· Excellent communication skills

· Experienced sales professional with complete understanding of the industry and distribution channels.  Ability to work as part of a team to drive sales.

· Must be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office; SAP preferred

· Excellent organizational skills

· Good written and oral communication skills

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

· 4-year college degree preferred.

Minimum of 5-years’ industry sales experience; prior employment at a managerial level position within the industry preferred.  Well established and be able to bring in 3-4 million in gross sales annually to start.

The Role

Do you have a minimum of 3-years’ experience in purchasing/costing supply chain within pharmaceutical industry?

If so, American Health Formulations, a fast-growing nutraceutical company, are looking for a Purchasing Agent to perform the daily activities and functions related to products and projects sourcing, ordering, bids, requisitions and the development of supplier’s database and system.

The key responsibilities of a Purchasing Agent include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare purchase orders (qualified vendors only) through SAP system, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for all department projects.
  • Ensuring that the full set of documents are in place after purchasing orders are placed.
  • Setting vendor master lists.
  • Researching and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, terms capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history.
  • Ensure all actions in area of responsibility are conducted as per FDA cGMP’s and regulations from other government agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DEA, etc.

The key skills and qualities of a Purchasing Agent:

  • BS Degree preferred.
  • 5-years’ experience in the purchasing and quality, costing of supplements and/or pharmaceutical products, raw materials and supplies may be substituted for a BA degree; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in purchasing/costing supply chain within pharmaceutical industry.
  • Trained in general safety, SOP, cGMP, Safety and HACCP, general pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging procedures and documentation.
  • Proficient in SAP system, Email blast, Database, Microsoft office, Word, and Excel Spreadsheets.
  • PC skills with Search Engine and Google products and vendor skills to quickly solve the sourcing problems.
  • High level of organization and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ingredients and finished products, manufacturing process procedures and R&D formulation and process development, creation of spreadsheets, managing projects files and records, vendor database and system build up.
  • Ability to speak/read/write fluently in English; Chinese/Mandarin is a big plus
